Did anything happen after Jack left with the Doctor and everyone else walked into the room? My Tivo cut off after Gwen asked the others if they'd seen Jack as they were coming in.
And many, many thanks for getting me into this show! The last three eps were so fantastic! I can't wait until January. |

Is there only one season of Torchwood so far? Would I be better off finding the torrents and watching it uncut? Or just wait and deal with the BBCA version this fall?
How many of Dr. Who. I've got the first 2 seasons of Dr. Who in my Netflix queue. What's the buzz on when S3 will be out on DVD, and will it be out before S4 airs on SciFi?
I think in both cases, torrents are the way to go??

1. Books - I love to read. I wish I had more time to read fiction. And fan fiction. I miss a good slashing.

3. Brandy - I have the greatest step-daughter. And now that she's a teenager, she's got a wicked sense of humor and a great handle on sarcasm.
4. Bed - I love going to bed at night so I can listen to Coast To Coast and snuggle my kid.
5. Bon Jovi and other hair metal bands - Is that cheating? Too bad. I love hair metal. And Def Leppard doesn't start with "B"
6. Big Dipper - I love the night sky. Astronomy is one of the greatest sciences ever. It makes us know how insignificant we really are.

I was browsing the IMDb boards (but I've seen this other places) and people are always saying "it's such a shame" or "bummer" or "it sucks" that a particular actor is gay. Why is it a shame? Because you can't have him? Guess what - you weren't getting him anyway!!!! People also get mad when an actor marries. Good for them! Let them be happy. Stop your fucking crying - he wasn't going to marry you. |

I'm trying to figure out a good program for making DVDs from my home movies. I have a few on my computer, but they all capture in different formats and do different things. It's kind of frustrating. The software that came with my new Sony Handycam is scary. It captures as an AVI file and 4.5 minutes of video came out to be 1.8 GIG. Holy shit! Sometimes, I'll need higher quality and sometimes just average will work. Damn. I don't know what to use. I've only ever made one DVD, and it was just a short little thing for someone else. Shit. |

I've read through 50 million abstracts for instructional design related dissertations and I can't come up with a single topic for me to research. Since Peabo died, I've been struggling to come up with a new topic, and it's been six months of dee dee dee on my part. I don't drink, but I swear that rum is going to be calling my name by the time I finish Peabo Jr.

I bought a mini-track ball for my laptop. I am so freaking clumsy, I can't use it well. The buttons are a bit different than I'm used to, so this is really a pain in the ass.
My laptop is overheating. One of the fans quit working. WTF? I need a second ChillPak, too. I probably could buy one of those fancy systems for cooling this down, but I sort of like giving my money to Dean Haglund. Rock on, Langly.
It's hotter than hell here. I hate it. I can't even put into words how much I hate this heat. Ugh.

We went to meet Jay and the gang last night. The gang consisted of Jay's son. No one else bothered to show up, which kind of ticked me off. Why say you'll be there and then not? I hauled my ass out for it! Damn.
Anyway, Jay and Buddy are really nice. Jay's wife was home with the baby, but we did pop in to say hello before heading off to Mashoes in Manns Harbor. We got there, turned down a gravel road to the parking area. Canals along the sides of the road and sound at the end equals huge ass mosquitoes. Did anyone bring bug repellent? OF COURSE NOT!!
So, being ill-prepared and understaffed, we decided to reschedule. I don't know when we're meeting again, but hopefully it will be in the next few weeks. What I'd really like to see is more people come out. I spent a small fortune on my video camera and voice recorder. I want to use them, damn it.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to say fuck you to a very special someone. You know who you are.

I'm going on my very first ghost hunt tonight!!!!
Yep, that's right. The Outer Banks Paranormal Society has about 10 members, and tonight is our first meeting. I've been looking for something like this for a while, so I'd have something to do outside of the house, without the child tagging along. So, when my mom told me about the ad in the paper, I was all over it. I bought a digital voice recorder and a new camcorder just for the occasion. Ok, so we needed a new camcorder anyay. Unfortunately, we had to order it, since there wasn't a camcorder with night vision to be found anywhere here. I'll have to use the old one for tonight. Not that I expect to find anything. It's just for fun. Sort of. It's hard to explain, because skeptics will be skeptics.
So, wish me luck! I'm taking Brandy, and I think she's more excited about it than I am. |

For New York. I knew I shouldn't have done everything I needed to do in one or two days earlier in the week. Not I'm twiddling my thumbs until I can leave. All I have left is to come up with a playlist for my Zen. Will I be odd for having a hair metal playlist with Etta James and The Drifters in it? Of course. Do I care? No.
Sam had his poker tournament last night. He came in 4th. So, I guess he moves on to the finals. Or semi-finals, whatever. They have a funky system here. Poker's not my thing. I'd rather play euchre. Or Trivial Pursuit.
Sebastian is officially weaned. It's been over a week now, so I am calling us done. I'm still sad about it, and want to nurse him, especially when he is tired or upset. He's been a real trooper about it though. And he's talking a lot more. If I hear "apple" one more time, I'm going to go nuts. At least he's no longer saying "bullshit" - that was a favorite for many weeks. That kid kills me. So, next challenge: potty training.
And now, a rant about Michael Savage. He's a conservative talk show host who thinks he's God or something. He comes on before Coast To Coast and I swear, I have never heard a more pompous ass grace the airwaves.Liberalism is a mental disorder is his big thing, and ALL liberals are wrong, mentally unbalanced, and should be shot. I agree with quite a few things Dr. Savage says (do something about illegal immigration, require legal immigrants to learn English) and I disagree on others (gay marriage mainly). But his constant raving about liberals really bugs me. He's certainly entitled to his opinion, but as a member of the media in such high standing (according to him), he should find a way to convey his message without sounding like a raving bitch. Leave the bitching to people like me, who aren't "Number 1 in Talk Radio" or whatever the hell he constantly brags about. And his faux humility is the funniest. "But who am I? I'm just one man, no one special." Whatever, Mike. It's clear from your tone that you think you should be running this country, from the extreme right.
So, the point of my rant? I don't have one. Michael Savage has been bugging me for years though. And don't get me started on Coast To Coast. George has lost it. Ian is alright, and Art, well, since his wife died and he packed up and moved to his new wife, I just can't put any credibility into anything he says either. At lease Art doesn't let the guests ramble on stupidly. As far as I know, Oscar and Satan only call George. |

I'm ready for my trip! The house is cleaned, carpets shampooed, nooks and crannies dusted. Shopping is done. All that's left is my car inspection tomorrow and packing, and last minute clean up. Sam is setting up the pools while we're gone, so everything will be ready when we get back. It will be weird to be gone for only four days, but after the last stay, I can't handle more than a handful of days. It's too freaking hot up there with no air conditioning. Screw that.
Now my biggest problem is trying to decide what playlist to load for the trip. And remembering to get my tuition paid before I leave. |

Ugh! I got online to take care of the usual stuff and my connection keeps going down. When it's up, the site I actually need is temporarily down. Figures. My DSL really pisses me off. I pay a shitload of money for the super high speed stuff, and half the time, I can't go anywhere. I guess this is just the universe's way of saying "Get back to work." I'm up to Season 3! Yay! I still love Brian. He's one of the most complex characters I've ever seen. I. Just. Love. Him. The only thing that bothers me about this show is the lack of lube. Everytime they have sex (doesn't matter which couple), no one puts on any lube. They throw on a condom and go to town. One would think generous amounts of lubrication would be needed, more than whatever is on the rubber. Aside from that, I love the show. Just like I knew I would.
Stargate won't come soon enough. I saw some caps from the season premiere of SG-1. Hubba-fucking-hubba!!! I don't know what Daniel is wearing, but damn! I can't wait!!!
The 4400 starts tonight. Whee!! It feel like forever! There isn't a lot this summer that I'm watching. Nothing new, except Windfall. My Tivo is mostly empty.
I weaned Sebastian. I'm sad about it. He's doing fairly well. I do miss it though. :( Now, if I could just get him to sleep in his own damn bed.
My trip to NY is a week away and, of course, I'm coming down with something. My head and neck feel achy. Nothing else, but it makes me pissy. Bah. |
